The Art of Fabric Crafting

Crafting a Gift of Love
Over the past few months, Lynn and Sheri (Mom and Mom) have been working with small squares of fur fabric that Alysha had passed along to Lynn. It was a challenge to work with – not your usual quilting material. Over a few weeks they came up with an idea – going all out with a new design.
After a few false starts and hours of cutting, arranging and rearranging, the pattern began to emerge; first as a set of squares with a small boarder, then a larger boarder with an offsetting pattern that gave the piece a feeling of having come from a designer’s portfolio.
They had such fun putting this together and it was much appreciated by everyone.
What you see here is several weeks of effort to create a lasting piece of artwork. When asked if they would do it again – well ‘Moms the Word’!
Following are a few fun words prepared for the presentation made last night:

Something Fur You
Dear Alysha and Sean
The months have passed and many a day
When you brought this forth and we said we’d play
Though often pulled out to look and wonder
I’d tuck it back, the pile under
Then one fine day an idea fluttered
And to your mom, a plan I uttered
She contested wildly “I know not how to sew!”
Yet you will see – we will show..
That together with laughs and fingers sore
A creation evolved for wall or floor
Over pots of tea (and a cookie or two)
This gift was made for Sean and you
So enjoy it now for it is yours for the keeping
Whether mounted up high or warm while you’re sleeping.
We hope you like it.
